(Answering the question of what I'm trying to make the player "feel"):
Anxiety, I suppose. I wanted the player to feel as though they are running out of time. The rising lava provides a (somewhat) strict overall time limit to reach the end, and most of the platforms fall away after a second. That said, I had originally planned on the lava rising faster, but as the game is supposed to last a full minute, I wound up being a bit generous on that front.
Whoops, forgot this bit in the original posting:
I kinda hope they say it was stressful, weirdly enough. It's a bit of a strange goal to shoot for, but it means I was successful in doing what I set out to.
After Class Edit: Probably ought to make the lava faster after all: Most people didn't even notice the lava was even rising. other than that, it seems my computer isn't strong enough to run it smoothly, which caused some issues.
