Devlog III
Truth be told, I made the recorded sounds by performing the actions in reality: opening a door, failing to open a locked door, jingling keys, and so on. That said, the checkpoint was just me snapping my fingers. As for the other audio, I used the files that the project already had.
Aside from the door related audio, I kinda just tried to find thing that fit each object, or action associated. When the falling platform changes, it clicks. When you die, you get an undesirable error noise. That said, one that didn't work too well was using wind for the spinning cylinder, as it really doesn't spin as fast as the sound calls for.
Other than that, I had a lot of technical difficulties working on this. The sound recorder for my computer doesn't do a supported file type, so I had to improvise. My computer struggled to run things, so the video wound up a bit choppy. Other than that, trying to do directional/location-based audio didn't work so well, and the volume had to be turned crazy low so it wouldn't rupture any eardrums.
